Smart Hotel Holiday - Venice-Mestre

Few cities have as many stunning sights to take in as Venice, Pisa and Florence. In this three-part escape you’ll spend four nights exploring some of Europe’s most magnificent relics and treasures.

Your first destination is the capital of the Veneto region and listed as a World Heritage Site, Venice is set on a group of 118 small islands separated by a labyrinth of canals and linked by century-old bridges. Colonnaded squares, domes and arches can be seen while on a sleek motorboat or during a gondola ride that will carry visitors through the city’s main waterways.

Next you will visit Pisa, which draws its fame from an architectural project gone terribly wrong. But the world-famous Leaning Tower is just one of many noteworthy sights in this compact and compelling city.

After that you will zoom with train to Florence. This city is magnetic, romantic and busy. Its urban fabric has hardly changed since the Renaissance, its narrow streets evoke a thousand tales, and its food and wine are so wonderful that you will return time and time again and still will not have enough.

Location
The hotel is located in Via Martiri della Libertà, a main traffic artery north of Venice Mestre. The fast connections with the A4 Padua-Venice-Trieste highway and Mestre ring road make getting to Venice, Treviso (Canova)and the airport (Marco Polo) very easily. MYSTERY

Haven't taken the break yet, but the process of booking it has been chequered.
Although the agent was polite and helpful, I have had to fight for a decent deal.
Was offered Poland, but not from my chosen airport, so no good.
Then was offered Dublin from chosen airport, acceptable.
Hotel was advertised as city centre, it was about 9 km the other side of the city, not acceptable.
Flights were and still are, ridiculous. Don't get into Dublin until 10.15 pm ....that's the first night. I get the day and second night and then have to leave the hotel at 5.00am to catch the plane back, not very good.
After many emails, I've been offered an hotel in the actual city centre which is much better.
I do realise that these are low budget deals, however, it would be better to make the break, if it involves flights, to be actually worth packing for! I'm going to an English speaking country........I dread to think how it would have been if we'd landed in Poland late at night, had to take a train, then a tram to our hotel at that time of night and had to struggle with any language barriers.
I will use Groupon again, indeed, your local deals/ breaks are very good, but I will not use this weekender mystery break again. Thank you for letting me give feedback.

MYSTERY

Initially once told what my draw holiday was i wasn't keen so asked for another destination wasn't too keen on that one either. Enquired after one i would like unfortunately that was not available. We agreed for me to think it over and Gautum the customer sales person would call me back Sunday afternoon. Early Sunday morning i received a voicemail from a very excited Gautum who said he was pleased for me and that someone had swapped their destination which was the one i wanted. I was so pleased. Mind you i had to pay an additional supplement for the flights but i didnt mind bcos it might i would basically have 2 full days and late afternoon in Barcelona in a 4* hotel 🤗 so big thanks to Gautum who made it all possible👍

MYSTERY

We were extremely happy with our mystery break and felt that the agent, David, was very professional and patient allowing us to think about options to take wherever possible, given that it had to be decided at that very time. We would have like to have choices about the train sector and would have been happy to pay for a different time rather than being allocated a time and a specific train. We are yet to have our holiday.

XMAS MARKET MYSTERY

Customer service was fine and we very much enjoyed the short trip to Rome. It was good value for money although we had to pay extra to change our flights to later ones so we got a reasonable amount of time in the city. The hotel was fine and only a couple of metro stops from the centre but a 15 min walk to the metro station.
